Pioneer Bank and Trust Makes Donation to Diabetes Prevention Program
Pioneer Bank and Trust, located on Omaha Street in Rapid City, recently awarded the Indigenous Diabetes Education Alliance $500 toward its diabetes prevention talking circle.
"The IDEA program does great work for Native American children and we at Pioneer Bank & Trust are proud to offer our support," said Bobbi Welch, Loan Processor, who was on hand to make the presentation.

IDEA Receives $7,000 Grant From SD Community Foundation
The South Dakota Community Foundation has announced that Indigenous Diabetes Education Allinace has been awarded $7,000 to assist in continuing a diabetes talking circle program in Native American schools on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation. The grant was presented through the South Dakota Community Foundation's statewide grant program.

Ted Nugent Donates Autographed Guitar to IDEA Fundraiser
Rocker Ted Nugent, also known as the Motor City Madman, donated an autographed acoustic guitar to IDEA's recent fundraising auction at Crazy Horse Memorial. The guitar was part of a special fundraising raffle and the winning ticket was drawn up at Crazy Horse Mountain. Dr. Kevin Weiland, a local Rapid City physcian and advisor to the IDEA project was the winner. A musician himself, Dr. Weiland purchased twenty five tickets. He is an avid collector of memorabilia and said he will find a special place for the Nugent guitar, after he serenaded some of his patients.

IDEA Holds First Fundraising Auction at Crazy Horse Memorial
The Indigenous Diabetes Education Alliance raised $7,300 during a special fundraising auction at Crazy Horse Memorial on Saturday.. Aug. 15. IDEA Director, Susan Ricci, says she plans to make this an annual event. “We had a wonderful turnout and a lot of support from the people up at Crazy Horse and from so many of our local Native artists.”
